About Alpine
A Minecraft client built by players
We started Alpine because modern Minecraft deserved a client that was fast, clean and kept up with new versions of the game.
Why Alpine exists
Most clients force a choice: stay on an old version for the features you like, or move to a new one and give them up. Assembling your own modpack fixes that, until an update breaks half of it.
Alpine removes that trade-off. One launcher covers legacy and modern versions across the loaders players actually use, with a curated set of quality-of-life mods and performance work that's maintained for you.
We're building the client we want to play on: quick to start, invisible when you're playing, and thoughtful everywhere in between.

Principles
How we build Alpine
Performance is a feature
Every module is built with its cost in mind. Alpine should make the game feel faster, never slower.
Polish over volume
We'd rather ship one setting that works everywhere than ten that work sometimes.
Fair by default
Core features are free with no hidden fees. Cosmetics are optional and never affect gameplay.
Built in the open
Our bootstrapper and server API are open source, and the client is translated by its community.
Why Alpine
What makes Alpine different
The details that matter when you play every day.
Every major mod loader
Fabric, Forge and NeoForge on modern versions. Ornithe and Cleanroom keep 1.8.9 and 1.12.2 current.
Your mods, welcome
Drop your own mods into the launcher. Alpine is a foundation, not a walled garden.
Zero setup
The right Java runtime is downloaded and updated automatically for every version you play.
Linux as a first-class platform
Packages for Flathub, the AUR, .deb, .rpm and AppImage, maintained alongside Windows and macOS.
Tools for server owners
Ridge, our open-source Spigot API, lets servers integrate directly with Alpine players.
The team behind Alpine
